Rules & Regulations

The purpose of Doggie Fun and Fitness is to provide a safe, fun and stimulating social environment for all our dogs. To ensure the safety and health of your pet and our other guests, we require all guests to comply with the following rules and regulations:

Hours of Operation

Monday through Friday 6 AM – 6 PM and Saturday 8 AM to 4 PM.

Complimentary Assessments

Every dog that comes for daycare and boarding must be properly assessed for entry. Complimentary assessments are held Monday through Saturday by appointment only.

Fully Vaccinated

Adult dogs need to be fully vaccinated in order to join DFF.

  • DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvovirus)
  • Bordetella (kennel cough)
  • Rabies
  • Negative Fecal Exam (within the last year)

We constantly monitor our pack for any signs of kennel cough or other illnesses. Any dogs exhibiting the signs of kennel cough are immediately isolated, owners are called, and the pet is referred to their veterinarian for diagnostics and treatment.

The incubation period is about 2-14 days, which means that your dog and/or other dogs will not display symptoms of illness for approximately 2-14 days following exposure.

Kennel cough can be acquired from your neighbor’s dog, from an outdoor dog park, or while sitting with your dog on a  restaurant patio. It is even possible for a vaccinated dog to develop symptoms as no vaccine is 100% effective.

While we do not have a specific age minimum to attend, we require a veterinarian’s approval to start daycare. All puppies must be fully vaccinated at 16 weeks of age and must be fixed by 7 months of age to continue daycare and boarding services.

  • All dogs must be leashed in the parking lot at all times. Please use a training collar if you have one to keep the dog from pulling the attendant.
  • All dogs needs to wear a quick release flat collar.
  • Flexi leads and retractable leashes are not permitted.
  • Dogs play with their teeth and can play rough at times. Your dog may come home dirty, wet, or with scratches. And even the most well behaved dog can be unpredictable on occasion. How a dog behaves around 1 dog is not always how they behave in a large group. While we require each dog to be vaccinated and in good health, it is still possible for dogs to contract kennel cough, conjunctivitis, giardia, etc. On the extreme and highly unlikely circumstance, your dog may experience an unpreventable condition like bloat, blown knees, etc. We are not responsible for any vet bills. On the unlikely occasion that your dog gets sick or hurt, it is the owner’s responsibility (Just like a child going to school and getting the flu or getting hurt at recess).
  • We must be kept up to date with your dog’s medical and behavioral changes. If your dog is on new medication(s), we NEED to know. This may impact behavior here. If your dog has a scuffle or problem with a dog/human outside of DFF we need to be informed.
  • Please keep your dog home if he has been coughing, has vomited, or had diarrhea in the past 24 hours. He may have something contagious or he may not be feeling well enough to play. Dogs must be in good health and free of communicable illness.
  • Day care dogs need to be here twice a week to keep up their social skills. Dogs that miss 1 week will need to be re-evaluated to return (unless there is a planned absence).
  • During peak times (February and April school vacation, Fourth of July, Labor Day weekend, Columbus Day weekend, Thanksgiving week, and Christmas vacation week) we always fill up, so we only allow “regulars” to board. Regulars are here for day care twice a week.
  • If you bring a lunch or snack for your dog over 6 months, there will be a $2 fee.We do not recommend dogs coming more than 4 times a week. At some point even Disney is not fun for kids; they all need a rest.

Doggie Fun & Fitness reserves the right to refuse admittance to any dog(s). Dogs removed from daycare will be recommended for training reincorporation.
